New Year's Resolutions

Sticking to New Year’s resolutions can be difficult for many individuals. People often find themselves with goals that are too difficult to keep throughout the year.


This is why we have listed 5 small healthy changes you can make that are easy to stick to for the rest of 2017.


1. Pay attention to the food you eat.

Eating mindfully can help your body communicate with you when you’re full. Your stomach will also be able to signal what its craving. Before you know it,  you will  start to eat a much more balanced diet by eating with no distractions.

2. Stick to the same sleep schedule.

Not only is it important to get enough sleep, but it is also important to keep a consistent wake and sleep schedule.  A consistent sleep schedule is crucial because it will determine how energized and productive you will be throughout the day.

3. Perform workouts that are best for your needs

Decide which goals you want to achieve. Do you want to gain more muscle? Or do you want to increase flexibility and burn fat? Whatever your goals are for the year, perform workouts that are aligned to your needs and that are enjoyable for you. This will increase your likelihood of working out again.

4. Consume less sugar.

Evaluate how much sugar you consume throughout the day. If you consume a lot of sugar, cut back your intake. This might be difficult at first, but once your body gets used to it it’ll become easier for you to avoid sugar.

5. Drink plenty of water.

It can be hard to remember to drink water throughout the day. Carry a water bottle with you all the time to remind yourself to drink more water. Note, women should drink about 2.2 liters of water per day and men should drink about 3 liters per day.
